Southern Montana Telephone’s mission is to connect family, friends, and customers to the world of information, learning, entertainment, and commerce by providing world-class communication and data services to the communities we serve.

We will achieve our mission by:

Doran Fluckiger

General Manager

Doran Fluckiger currently serves as Southern Montana Telephones’ General Manager. Before working for Southern Montana Telephone, Doran worked as a General Manager for a Chrysler car dealership, Business Consultant for the University of Wyoming, and an Accounting Supervisor at Silver Star Communications. Doran earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Brigham Young University-Idaho. Doran enjoys the outdoors, specifically fishing, hiking, motor-biking, and following the interest of his family.

Janice Wasser

Customer Relations Supervisor

I graduated from Beaverhead County High School. I have completed adult education classes and training in the telecom industry through work. I began my journey in the telecom industry in November 2004 at Nemont Telephone in Scobey, MT, where I worked until January 2011. I became an SMT employee at the end of January 2011. I have worked in customer service and the cellular department throughout my career, which has offered new adventures every day. I enjoy outdoor activities with my family, such as camping, horseback riding, and four-wheeling.

Cali Malkovich

Customer Relations Specialist

I graduated high school in Hamilton, MT, and went to college at UMW in Dillon MT. I moved to the Big Hole Valley in 2014. I came to work for Southern Montana Telephone in August of 2018. I enjoy fishing, hunting, camping, and reading.

Jason Raymond

Technician

I graduated from Beaverhead County High School in 1995. I attended Alamon Telephone School in January 1996. In the spring of 1996, I went to work for Blackfoot Telephone in Missoula, MT. I worked at Blackfoot for just shy of ten years and then went into business for myself directional drilling for utility companies. I came to work for SMT in the summer of 2007 part-time and, in December 2008, became a full-time employee.

Porter Rix

Porter Rix

Technician

As the newest member of the team Porter serves as a network technician. Porter spent most of the past decade building western saddles and tack with Freckers Saddlery based in Dillon Montana. He loves his beautiful little family, and relishes any opportunity to get out and go fishing. A graduate of BYU-Idaho he continues to search for opportunities to learn, grow, and meet new people in this beautiful area of the world.
